The mission of Aloha First can be summed up in one word:

Education

Aloha First is a grass roots, community based, non-profit organization working to improve the quality of life of all people. Our educational programs & projects are a new approach towards economic, social and cultural development.

We perpetuate the Hawaiian cultural way of life by preserving the wisdom, knowledge & understanding of Na Kupuna o Hawai'i Nei.

A sacred monument honoring our kupuna who courageously signed their names in support of Queen Lili'uokalani, standing against the illegal annexation of the Hawaiian Kingdom.

The first & only land base for the development of a sovereign & independent Nation, ensuring political, economic, social & educational advancement for native Hawaiian people.

The Ku'e Petitions & Hawaiian Sovereignty

Understanding our past to shape a better future for all Hawaiian people.

1893

The Overthrow

The Hawaiian Kingdom was illegally overthrown, marking the beginning of a long struggle for sovereignty and justice.

1897

The Ku'e Petitions

Over 38,000 native Hawaiians signed the Ku'e (Anti-Annexation) Petitions, demonstrating overwhelming opposition to annexation and reaffirming their love of country.

1993

U.S. Public Law 103-150

The United States formally acknowledged the illegality of the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom and apologized for its role.

1996

Founded to restore truth and integrity in the treatment of Hawaiian issues, continuing the legacy of our ancestors.
